Claire Lea

A former lawyer, general counsel and plc company secretary, Claire has a deep understanding of the challenges of transforming professional and technical expertise into outstanding leadership.

Her clients are leaders and aspiring leaders looking to develop their leadership style, skills and behaviours; and enhance their effectiveness, impact and influence. They want to be successful and to lead confidently and authentically in alignment with their values, meaning and purpose and in ways that will be sustainable in the longer term.

An experienced executive coach, consultant and facilitator, Claire offers individual and team coaching primarily in professional services, technology and life sciences. Her clients are usually moving into more senior roles and want to fine tune their leadership skills.

Others want a confidential and independent thinking partner who offers the time, space, support and challenge to generate their best thinking. They value the encouragement and challenge to think bigger and to determine what success looks like for them.

Claire also enjoys working with people seeking to reignite their passion for their role or explore what next. Her work includes increasing leadership skills, supporting candidates through their selection and transition to partnership or directorship, client and business development, effective teamwork and parental leave coaching.

Claire’s coaching is dynamic, collaborative and purposeful.  Deeply pragmatic and solutions-focussed, her coaching is rooted in theory and best practice drawn from coaching, psychology, neuroscience and leadership theory. She uses a range of coaching methods and techniques and psychometric instruments to underpin her coaching, but her key focus is building honest coaching relationships and equal partnerships with clients.

By creating a confidential, high-support and high-challenge environment which is truly independent of a client’s organisation, clients have the space to gain valuable insight, explore their blind spots, find and test their own solutions and develop their emotional fluency and key emotional intelligence capabilities such as resilience, confidence and impulse control and to challenge limiting beliefs such as perfectionism, fear of failure and impostor syndrome.
