Clare Allen, faculty member

“I am passionate about developing coaches who can work within or alongside organisations to support both the individual and organisational aims.”

— Clare Allen

Clare’s coaching clients tend to be senior leaders, leadership teams or account teams within the professional services environment.

As an executive coach, Clare’s approach is challenging, thought-provoking and honest:

I share my energy, humour and pragmatic nature to help my clients tap into their own resources and come up with ideas and solutions that work for them. I hold my theories and knowledge lightly but will use them to frame discussions where helpful.

I firmly believe in enabling people to have the time and space to explore their opportunities and challenges and see myself as a thinking partner.

A former Head of Coaching with one of the ‘Big 4’ accountancy firms, Clare was instrumental in establishing an internal coaching practice and leading a team of full-time and part-time internal coaches.

Her work as an internal coach has enabled Clare to understand, and have lived, the challenges of working within an organisational system and providing a professional coaching service that meets the needs of the business.

Clare now spends her time working with 1:1 coaching clients, supporting leadership teams as they develop, advising businesses on internal coaching practices and supporting the development of professional coaches.

Clare’s intent when working with Catalyst 14’s transformational coach training programmes is to bring her practical approach to the application of coaching theories and models into real life scenarios, helping participants translate their learning into their practice.

When working to support individuals develop their coaching skills and capability I work with the potential in the room and facilitate learning through peer to peer interactions. I will bring my presence, my knowledge and my experience into the programmes and will create an environment where we can learn, be stretched and feel enriched on the journey.

Prior to her career in coaching, Clare trained as a Chartered Tax Advisor and also held roles in a variety of people-related areas.

Clare is a member of and individually accredited by the European Coaching and Mentoring Council (EMCC). She holds BPS Level A and B and is an accredited MBTI, Hogan and EQ-i practitioner.

Clare is a magpie in terms of her interests in coaching, and has undertaken development in different aspects connected to the coaching field including Cognitive Behavioural Coaching, Career Coaching, Team Dynamics, Coach facilitation, working with Transactional Analysis, and Coaching Constellations.
